Agartala May 09: The recent surge in potato and onion prices has become a cause for concern across the state especially in the capital city.
Meanwhile several allegations of ‘Unscrupulous traders’ taking double- price for onion and potato per kilogram, than the normal have surfaced.
To address the important issue, a meeting was held at the Sadar Office in presence of wholesale traders
Addressing reporters, SDM Sadar, West Tripura Manik Lal Das said, “Based on the complaints received from several quarters especially the consumers, the meeting is being held today with the businessmen and traders of various markets in the capital city”.
“The stocks are sufficient as of now but along with conducting raids in various markets, we will discuss to ensure that consumers are not affected in any way”, he added.
