PCC SC Department, Opp leader to hold 30 hour fast

Pradesh Congress SC Department today announced a 30
hour fast on February 09 in protest against corruption,
nepotism, rampant irregularities and undue favours made by
the state government to a section of party cadres and
hooligans. Opposition leader Ratan Lal Nath extended hand to
the stir and announced to join the protest through a press
conference at Agartala Town Hall here today.
Tripura Pradesh Congress SC
Department today held its state delegate conference with
2,200 delegates while the figure was initially supposed to
be barely 1,200. Flaying at the issue of shield the state
government has been allegedly providing to MLA Partha Das,
accused of using fake SC certificate, the PCC SC Department
today stated, "We have adopted a 30 point demand note at the
conference today. We demand action on MLA Partha Das within
the next 24 hours. Any delay or declination to do so will
result in the fast. Prakash Chandra Das, chief of the SC
Department today said, "The ruling Left Front has unleashed
a new age of deprivation and tormentation on the Scheduled
Caste community alongwith the rest of the people".
Opposition leader Ratan Lal Nath today said that while the
entire country is having 31 percent reservation for
Scheduled Castes (SC) and 17 percent reservation for
Scheduled Tribes (ST), Tripura is the lone state where they
get 6-7 percent reservation facilities. "If the government
has the guts, let them come out with statistics in or out of
the Assembly", added Nath.
Demanding CBI in the
alleged scam over implementation of ADHAAR project, linkage
between MLA and former minister Sahid Choudhury and
international terrorist Mamum Miah, Ashalata murder, chit
fund scams, land scam related to ILS Hospital etc, the
Opposition leader today said, "The prime enemy of this state
is corruption. Ruling Left Front is its entertainer and
Chief Minister Manik Sarkar is its chief patron".

Swami Vivekananda 150th birth anniversary was
celebrated with great respect jointly by Montessori teacher
training college and Mohanar at TB association hall on
February 8. The programme was inaugurated by Information and
Cultural Affairs minister Anil Sarkar, Dr. Prafullajit Sinha,
Chairperson of AMC was present as chief guest. On the
occasion a deliberation and a cultural programme was held.
Pradip Acharjee, principal of the training college gave his

Doctors boycott service at Bimal Singh Memorial

Kamlapur, February 06:
Doctors and other medical staff boycotted work at
Bimal Singh Memorial Hospital here today in lodging protest
of assault made by one traders last night.
SDMO of the hospital
Jiteswar Ahir said that one Bishumani Roy of Manik Bhandar
assaulted doctors and paramedical staffs last night and to
lodge protest against that they went in cease-work 6
AM to 12 noon today. However, with the intervention of
Nagar Panchayat Chairperson, the boycott was
withdrawn.
On the other hand,
Bishumani Roy alleged that a serious patient was laying on
trolley and after requesting three times no doctors and
nurses came to attend him. On the other hand, the nurses
were not serious to accommodate the patient to a bed. "Once
they said there was no cabin available while next moment
they asked to wait and again said that cabin not available",
he said expressing his dismay over the incident.
"In such a situation if I
raised my voice against such careless attitude, was it my
crime? Even though I beg pardon", he added. On the other
hand, the boycott pushed the patient in deep trouble. The
patients repeatedly asking advice did not get that in
morning. However, the service only came in tune after late
afternoon.
